Shelly and Steve find their dream home in Meppershall

We’d recommend them to anyone, they are unique homes with their layouts, and they all seem to offer open plan spaces suited to the current way of living.

When Shelly and Steve Bull adopted two children in November 2020, they knew they wanted to find a home that the whole family could make their own.

That’s why they set their sights on a new build property, and more specifically a four-bedroom house at Davidsons Homes’ Woodlands Rest development in Meppershall.

After seeing the development begin to take shape in the village they lived in, the couple decided a Kibworth house type was the right home for their family to put down roots.

Shelly said: “Not only did the Kibworth give us the space we wanted in our bedroom, but it also featured bifold doors, and an open plan living space created by the front and back voids which we love.

“We love the more open plan living that the house offers us and the kids. Our kitchen and family area with bifold doors creates a beautifully bright and warm environment to live in.

“The buying process wasn’t free of challenges, as the pandemic meant that our house took almost six months longer than expected to build. We lost our buyers six months into the process which was heart-breaking, but the team at Davidsons allowed us to the time to find new buyers, which we did.

“As we had two adopted children placed with us towards the end of 2020, we wanted to find a home that they felt was as much theirs as ours. We bought a Davidsons new build in Meppershall, which meant that our family could see the development start to take shape, and our house be built right in front of our eyes!

“We regularly visited the plot during the later stages of the build to see the rooms, and allow the children the chance to feel comfortable with the move and our new home. The Davidsons Sales Managers Victoria and Sue were so helpful in allowing us access to the house prior to moving in to ease the children’s anxieties around the move.”

The family were one of the first to move into their new home at Woodlands Rest, which meant they had the opportunity to see a new community forming around them.

Steve said: “It’s the perfect location for our family to settle into and make our own. It’s close to a small farmer’s market town, with lovely walks for the dogs nearby, a great school for the children and a wonderful local pub.

“To anyone looking at a Davidsons home, I’d recommend going to a site and looking around the showhomes to see the quality of the build and the type of development that they build. We’d recommend them to anyone, they are unique homes with their layouts, and they all seem to offer open plan spaces suited to the current way of living.”

Shelly added: “The things we love most about our new Davidsons home? Well, the space we have for our family to grow, the sunny garden that we can sit in all day and the peace and quiet around us.”
