Five-bedroom house at Lubenham View has the wow factor for Katy and Mark
Everyone we have ever dealt with at Davidsons has been wonderful. They were very attentive and professional and could not do enough for us
Mark Davidson and his partner Katy Werboweckyj have moved into a five-bedroom house they hope will become a family home.
The couple moved from a three-bedroom terraced house in Oakham into a much bigger home in Market Harborough – at Davidsons Homes’ Lubenham View development – this summer.
Mark, a specialist mechanic, and Katy, a chief financial officer for a technology company, feel they have found the perfect house to bring up children.
“This is the house we want to settle down in and start a family,” said Katy. “As soon as we saw the property online, it really stood out and we knew that was the house for us.”
Mark said they decided two years ago that they wanted to upsize, so they started to research online for a new-build home to meet their need for more space.
“We looked at a lot of houses and they were all very similar but when we saw the design of the Newstead house by Davidsons Homes, that was that,” he said. “It incorporates a huge void above the dining table which is an incredible statement feature. We absolutely love it. It definitely has the wow factor.
“The only problem is that we now have to find the right light arrangement which will do the space justice but that is a good problem to have.”
Once the couple had identified the house they wanted to buy, they then set about finding the location they wanted to live in.
“We saw Davidsons Homes was building at Lubenham View near Market Harborough, which was brilliant for us as it is nearer to both sets of parents and it’s a lovely market town,” said Katy. “The development is right on the edge of town, so it has easy access to the M1 and M6 for Mark to get to the airport when he is away working.
“When he’s not jetting off, Mark is based at an office in Brixworth, so living here sees his commute cut down from an hour to just 20 minutes.
“My drive to work was about an hour from the old house but now it’s half of that so we both have more time to spend together in our new home.”
Mark said his favourite space at the house is actually outside.
“There are bi-folding doors leading from the kitchen area into the back garden, which faces east so it catches the morning sun,” he said. “Is there a better way to start the day than by having a cup of tea or coffee sitting outside listening to the birds? We had some people over recently and we had breakfast outside there and it was glorious. Everyone loved it.
“I have to say though, I can’t get over how good the void looks and, due to its design, it means there is a feature balcony which leads to the master bedroom. People are knocked out by that too.”
Katy is a big fan of the large kitchen space.
“For me, the large kitchen and dining area is the best thing about the new house,” she said. “The other week we had family around and I cooked a meal. Because there is so much space, everyone was able to sit close by at the table while I was preparing the food which was lovely. It meant the whole experience was fun rather than kind of a chore.
“We are looking forward to doing a whole lot more entertaining in the new place.”
The couple have also been busy exploring their new local environment.
“We have been here for quite a few weeks now and have been out and about and have met the neighbours,” said Katy. “They are all so friendly and welcoming. Most of them seem to be about our age and have young children which means if we have our own children, they will have friends on their doorstep.
“There are lots of lovely walks nearby to the village of Lubenham and a public right of way which goes across the fields, so it looks like we will have to get a dog.
“We have also strolled into Market Harborough and checked that out. It has a much younger vibe than Oakham and we are enjoying being able to go for cocktails in a couple of bars then go for a meal at a lovely restaurant.”
The couple said they would not hesitate to recommend Davidsons Homes after their buying experience with the company.
Mark said: “I know I have the same surname as the people who built my house but they are no relation, so I am not recommending them because of that! Everyone we have ever dealt with at Davidsons has been wonderful.
“They were very attentive and professional and could not do enough for us. The site manger Paul and his assistant Alex have been great, as have Simon and Kelly on the sales team.
“On the day we moved in, they offered to help us unload and asked if they could get us lunch to help out. It’s that attention to detail and heartfelt personal touch that makes all the difference. We didn’t take them up on their kind offer, but it was good to know they were there for us if we needed them.”
