Homebuilder expands with first Northamptonshire development

East Midlands homebuilder Davidsons is expanding south with its first development in Northamptonshire.

The new development will be at Clock Meadow on the Boddington Road in Byfield. It will be a small site, with just 11 homes for sale – mostly 4 and 5 bedroom properties. Work begins in late summer and the first homes will be available towards the end of the year. As part of the planning permission the company is providing an area of open space, and also parking spaces for 6 adjacent cottages that currently have no vehicular access to their properties.

Davidsons, whose head office is at Ibstock in Leicestershire, is looking at other possible sites in the county and is opening a local office in Towcester. Land Manager of Davidsons Homes, Jim Robinson, who will be based at the new office, said “We are keen expand into the South Midlands and have been looking for opportunities in Northamptonshire for some time. This will be the first chance for local people to see our homes – our traditional style has proved popular with buyers in our current areas”.

Mr Robinson added “There are a couple of other developments that we are hoping to finalise in the near future and we are also keen to hear from anyone who has land which they think offers potential. At present we are considering a range of sites, with and without existing planning permission. Ideal sites would provide us with opportunities to build around 40 – 80 traditional homes”.
