Davidsons Homes making progress on Rugby’s Houlton development

House building is well underway at a largescale development on the site of the former Rugby Radio Station, now named Houlton.

Davidsons Homes is building 250 new three to five bedroom homes at its Dollman Meadow development at Houlton, just off the Crick Road next to Hillmorton and bricks are now to second storey on the first homes with roofs being lifted into place next week.

Davidsons Homes has already sold five homes at Dollman Meadow since the launch weekend [April 8] and Sales Director Stephanie King said she is excited to see what the future holds for the landmark development.

She said: “Work is progressing well at Dollman Meadow and we have been inundated with eunquires since we’ve launched the development.

“It was particularly exciting to welcome visitors to look at our plans for the site, and to make the first sales to people who will be some of the very first residents at this flagship development.

“Dollman Meadow features a good mixture of homes for buyers to choose from. First-time buyers and downsizers will be suited to our two and three-bedroom homes, while growing families can find more space in our larger four and five-bedroom homes.”

The development represents the first phase of a wider urban extension to Rugby, being led by master developer, Urban&Civic. The new community is set across 1,200 acres of land and will eventually comprise 6,200 new homes alongside three primary schools, a new secondary school, a new health centre and a new link road into Rugby.

Johanne Thomas, Communities and Partnerships for Urban&Civic said; “There is a real sense of momentum developing now and it is great to see the first houses start to take shape and house-buyers visiting Houlton. Our Houlton Visitor Centre at Dollman Farm and the Davidsons sales suite are bringing alive the vision for this new place.”

Stephanie King added: “We’ve had a really good start to sales and whilst we are selling off plan initially, people are immediately struck by the work done to create the Dollman Farm community hub, The Tuning Fork eatery and the extensive landscaping already in place, enabling them to quickly imagine themselves living at Houlton. Interest is therefore really high so I’d urge home-hunters to register their interest now to avoid disappointment.”

Prices for homes at Dollman Meadow start from £285,000.
