The start of construction on new Broadnook Primary School commences

Construction has officially begun on a brand-new primary school at Broadnook Garden Village, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of this growing new community in Charnwood, which we are proud to be apart of.

A special turf-cutting ceremony has taken place to celebrate the start of work on the two-form entry school, which will create 420 much-needed primary school places for local families when it opens in September 2027.

The new school will sit at the heart of Broadnook Garden Village, a major new neighbourhood that will provide around 1,950 new homes alongside a range of community facilities designed to support residents now and in the future.

The project is being part funded by Davidsons Homes through our Section 106 agreement as part of a wider investment in the infrastructure required to support the new community. Alongside new homes, Broadnook Garden Village will benefit from a range of amenities including community facilities, a care home and retirement village.

James Wilson, Group Managing Director at Davidsons Homes, said: ” At Davidsons, we believe great places are about far more than the homes themselves. They’re about creating communities where people can put down roots, and that means investing in the infrastructure families need from the very beginning.
We’re delighted to see work begin on the new Broadnook primary school, which will become a real focal point for the community. It’s fantastic to see another key piece of the vision for Broadnook becoming a reality.”

After the ceremony, attendees had the exciting opportunity to also meet LeoBroadnook, a new medial AI robot, located at Broadnook Garden Village.
