Little Bowden comes to life with sculpture unveiling, new play park and showhome launch

There was plenty to celebrate at Little Bowden on Saturday as Davidsons Homes welcomed families, residents and prospective homebuyers to a special Family Fun Day packed with activities, entertainment and community spirit.

The event marked several major milestones for the Market Harborough development, including the unveiling of a unique sculpture inspired by local schoolchildren, the opening of a brand-new play park and the launch of three new showhomes.

From classroom sketch to community landmark

One of the day’s most memorable moments came when Erik, Elias and Luca officially unveiled a striking new sculpture inspired by their winning design.

The trio, pupils at Meadowdale Primary School, were invited to create concepts for a landmark piece of artwork for the development, with their ideas ultimately forming the basis of the finished sculpture.

Having already enjoyed a sneak peek earlier in the week as the sculpture was installed, the boys returned on Saturday to reveal the finished piece and see their creativity take pride of place at the development.

Now standing as a permanent feature within Little Bowden, the sculpture celebrates both imagination and community involvement, giving the young designers a lasting connection to the neighbourhood they helped shape.

A new place to play

Families attending the event were also among the first to enjoy Little Bowden’s newly opened play park – with the gates also being officially opened by Erik, Elias and Luca.

Filled with excited youngsters throughout the day, the new area provides a dedicated space for children to play, explore and make friends, while giving parents a welcoming place to spend time outdoors close to home.

The play park forms part of Davidsons Homes’ commitment to creating communities where people can put down roots and enjoy a great quality of life from day one.

Opening the doors to three new showhomes

Visitors were also invited to step inside three newly launched showhomes, offering a first look at the latest homes available at Little Bowden.

Throughout the day, guests explored the beautifully styled properties, gathered inspiration for their own homes and spoke with the sales team about life at the growing development.

Combined with live entertainment, facepainting, family activities, refreshments and a children’s DJ, the event gave visitors a chance to experience the community atmosphere that is already taking shape at Little Bowden.

A celebration of community

Simon Tyler, Sales Director South at Davidsons Homes, said: “Saturday was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes Little Bowden such a special place.

“Seeing Erik, Elias and Luca unveil the sculpture was a real highlight. What started as an idea in a classroom has become a permanent feature that the whole community can enjoy for years to come.

“It was also fantastic to officially open the new play park and welcome visitors into our latest showhomes. The day captured exactly what we’re trying to create at Little Bowden – not just a place to live, but a thriving community where people can make lasting memories.”

Located off Kettering Road in Market Harborough, Davidsons at Little Bowden combines thoughtfully designed homes with green spaces, public art and community amenities, creating a distinctive new neighbourhood for local families.
