Chair-ity Begins at Davidsons Homes for Queniborough Scouts

A local Scout group in Queniborough is sitting comfortably after receiving a £640 donation from Davidsons Homes to fund new chairs and tables for its hut.

The 25th Leicester (Queniborough) Scout Group has taken delivery of the new furniture, which will be used during weekly meetings, badge work, craft activities and community events at the group’s village headquarters.

The £640 donation ensures the group’s growing number of young members have safe, practical and durable seating for years to come, supporting everything from learning essential life skills to planning outdoor adventures.

Stephanie King, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes East, said: “Scouting plays such an important role in helping young people build confidence, resilience and friendships that can last a lifetime.

“At Davidsons, we are passionate about creating communities that thrive, not just building homes. Supporting local groups like the 25th Leicester Scouts is an important part of that commitment, and we’re delighted this donation will provide something practical and long-lasting that the group can use every week.”

Davidsons Homes is currently building at Willow Grove off Boonton Meadows Way in Queniborough. The development has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of the village, with landscaped areas and a strong emphasis on community.

The Scout hut is located within the village, close to the Willow Grove development, meaning many future and existing residents will benefit directly from the group’s activities and facilities.

Phil Iley, Chair of Trustees for the group, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Davidsons for this generous donation. Our hut is at the heart of everything we do, and having sturdy new chairs and tables makes a real difference to our sessions.

“They will be used constantly, whether the Scouts are working towards badges, getting creative or planning their next adventure. Support like this allows us to focus our funds on delivering opportunities and experiences that really benefit young people in our community.”
