Davidsons Homes helps Gotham Church give new residents a warm village welcome
New homeowners moving into Gotham will be greeted with more than just friendly neighbours, thanks to a partnership between Davidsons Homes and the local parish church.
The housebuilder has donated £500 to the 453 Parish, which covers Gotham and surrounding villages, to fund 100 specially designed Welcome Packs for families moving into Davidsons’ new Blackberry Gardens development off Leake Road in the village. Each pack includes a personal letter, local information and even a packet of sunflower seeds, chosen as a cheerful, sustainable symbol of new beginnings.
The project, led by church member Louise Third and Reverend Richard Coleman, aims to help newcomers feel immediately at home and connected with village life. The packs include details of local clubs, activities and services, as well as the monthly Connection magazine, which will be delivered to residents on an ongoing basis.
Louise said: “We wanted to create something friendly and personal that truly reflects the warmth of this community. Thanks to Davidsons’ support, we can make sure every new resident feels welcomed and knows about all the brilliant things happening locally.”
Stephanie King, Sales Director for Davidsons Homes East, said: “Community is at the heart of what we do. We build homes, but we also want to help people feel part of something bigger, and this initiative is a lovely example of that. The church has created such a thoughtful way to welcome new families, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping Gotham continue to thrive.”
