Davidsons Homes helps bring life-saving defibrillator to Stathern
A new community defibrillator has been installed at Davidsons Homes’ The Paddocks development in Stathern, giving residents and visitors around-the-clock access to life-saving equipment.
The device, which can make the difference between life and death in an emergency, was installed with the support of the Stathern Defibrillator Group and local volunteers. It is now live and ready for use, with a permanent power supply to ensure it’s available around the clock.
Stephanie King, Sales Director for Davidsons Homes East, said: “It’s brilliant to see the defibrillator in place and ready to serve the whole village. This kind of project really shows what can be achieved when local people and developers pull together. We build homes, but we also want to help build thriving, connected communities, and making something as important as this accessible to everyone in Stathern is something we’re genuinely proud of.”
Community volunteer Martin Fagan, who helped coordinate the project, said: “Having a defibrillator available 24/7 provides real peace of mind for everyone in the area. Davidsons’ support has been invaluable in getting it installed and ready for use, and it’s great to see the community and the developer working together on something so important.”
Local defibrillators are especially important as every minute counts when someone suffers a cardiac arrest. According to the British Heart Foundation, using a defibrillator within three to five minutes of collapse can increase the chance of survival by up to 70 per cent.
The defibrillator is mounted at the entrance to The Paddocks development and is accessible to both new residents and the wider Stathern community.
