Housebuilder goes ‘above and beyond’ for young Hugglescote couple

It took less than six weeks for one young couple between reserving their first home and moving in – an experience they said ‘deserves to be recognised’.

Tom Hale (31) and his fiancée Sandra Paimbrekyte (27) first visited Davidsons Homes’ Hastings Park development in Hugglescote on September 1 last year, and they had moved into their new three-bedroom home on the development just five-and-a-half weeks later on October 11.

Tom, who works as a sales executive for Porsche, said: “Sandra and I had been renting a property in Nottingham while saving up to buy our first home. We wanted the decision to be right so we spent lots of time researching different developers and visiting various new sites. I remember the moment that I saw the Davidsons Homes development online – in fact I sent a screenshot to Sandra saying, ‘I want this one!’.

“The location of our new property was very important to us. Sandra works as a programmes cost engineer for Aston Martin in Warwick, so her commute was quite long, whereas now it just takes an hour or so. Hugglescote and the surrounding area looks really nice, so we’re looking forward to getting out and about exploring when the weather is a little better. We get married in four months and have been so busy that we haven’t really had the chance yet!”

Tom and Sandra spent several years saving for their first home and said that it’s all been worth it to finally move in.

Tom said: “There are lots of stories around about how difficult it is for people to buy their first home, and we don’t disagree. We’ve worked hard and compromised over the years, so that we could buy a home at a relatively young age.

“We picked a three-bedroom Alford housetype, which is ideal for us as first-time buyers. We really like the open-plan layout downstairs where we’ve been able to put a very large dining table, making it easy to have friends over. Sandra loves big windows and we feel that Davidsons really delivered on that front – it feels light and airy inside. Plus we have two big double doors at the back, meaning that we can have those open in the summer and enjoy looking out over the garden as we cook. We have two cats too, so that gives them a great space to roam around in.

“Our sales manager Richard has been so helpful, and we wanted to specifically mention our assistant site manager Jamal too, who couldn’t do enough for us. I believe that when someone goes above and beyond it should be recognised, and those two in particular have delivered every time they said they would. For example, we had a large dining table delivered which we underestimated the weight of! It was left outside on the pavement when Sandra was at home alone, but by the time I arrived back Jamal had already rounded up five or six of his colleagues, along with one of our new neighbours, and brought it inside for us.

“We’ve also had a great experience with Albert Henry, which is the company Davidsons use for the wardrobes in the first bedroom. We’ve got them coming to fit out our office and living room too, we’ve found that they have also exceeded our expectations every time we’ve dealt with them.

“Compared to the other developments we saw, Davidsons offer real luxury, both in the houses they build and in the service they provide. We’re delighted with our first home and can’t recommend them highly enough.”

Sandra said: “Also, before we moved in, we kept visiting the house and spoke with some neighbours. They all seemed friendly and happy with their houses, which made the experience even more positive, knowing they were happily settling in and pleased with their new Davidsons home.”
