Over £600,000 investment earmarked for enhancements to Gotham

Gotham and the surrounding area is set to benefit from an investment of over £600,000, thanks to a housebuilder’s new homes development off Leake Road.

Davidsons Homes, which has begun work on its Blackberry Gardens development, is investing the money into the village and surrounding neighbourhood as part of its planning agreement with Nottingham County Council.

There are 95 new homes being built at Blackberry Gardens, with nine designated as affordable housing. Beautiful green open space will be provided onsite, with a protected ecological area to allow nature and wildlife to thrive.

Jason Glover, Operations Director for Davidsons Homes, said: “Blackberry Gardens is another welcome re-entry for us into Nottinghamshire, with the site set to become a wonderful new community offering well-connected, high-quality homes.

“Everywhere we build, we do our best to enhance the local area – not just by building new homes, but by investing in the neighbourhood, and Gotham is no different. We will be donating money to improve local education, bus services and more, which will benefit not just our buyers but all local people.”

Primary education at Millside Spencer Academy in East Leake is set to benefit from a £477,760 contribution, while investments in a bus service, a new bus stop, waste management and travel provisions will further enhance the area.
