Role: Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, East Midlands

 

Description: This role is for an experienced individual in the role of either Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor. It will be their responsibility to manage all aspects of a site’s budgets from initial cost plan stage, through to site completion. Working closely with all other departments within the business it is the responsibility of the Quantity Surveyor to ensure budgets are not exceeded and that all necessary resources in terms of subcontract trades are in place to meet the company’s build targets.

 

Location: Ibstock, Leicestershire

 

Position: Full time, Permanent

 

Responsibilities:               

• Production of accurate cost plans in accordance with the agreed timetable.
• Production of valuations to monitor and control site expenditure and ensure budgets are not exceeded in accordance to the agreed timetable.
• Regular site visits to ensure costs are controlled and resources are in place.
• Preparing tenders, negotiating prices with subcontractors and raising of orders to facilitate sites build requirements.
• Evaluating and agreeing variations and instructions.
• Liaising with site personnel and subcontractors in order to maximise productivity.
• Payment of sub-contractors in line with group policy and procedures in accordance with our payment timetable.
• Working in conjunction with project teams to ensure that sites are ran efficiently to programme and within budget.
• Reporting on, monitoring and reducing non-productive costs across sites
• Promoting and acting in accordance with Group values, systems, policies and procedures.
Desirable Experience:

 

 

 

• Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a residential house builder
• Experience in negotiating.
• Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail
• Great team player
• Good communication skills
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise numerous tasks.
• Experience using coins would be beneficial but not essential.
