Shoemaking boss unveils new showhome at Rushden development
House-hunters have been given the opportunity to look inside a three-storey showhome on a new development in Rushden.
Davidsons Homes has thrown open the doors of the five-bedroom Newstead home at Sanders Fields, off Northampton Road.
The property was officially unveiled by Megan Sanders, Director of Sanders & Sanders, the local shoemaking company which inspired the name of the new development.
Davidsons Homes is delivering 80 homes at Sanders Fields, featuring a range of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, including a selection of bungalows.
Simon Tyler, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “There was a genuine sense of anticipation before we opened the doors to The Newstead – the first showhome available to the public on site since the coronavirus lockdown was announced.
“We were delighted to see so many people attend their appointments over the opening weekend. It was a pleasure to welcome all of our visitors to the site and we were especially pleased to have Megan from Sanders & Sanders in attendance to carry out the ribbon cutting.
“Having been established in Rushden for 148 years, the company is well known in the town and is one of the best shoemakers in a county famous for producing footwear.
“We have already received lots of positive comments about the Sanders & Sanders inspired bedroom, influenced by the company’s history of making army boots during the First World War, as well as the showhome overall. The Newstead is a very desirable detached family home with an imposing galleried landing overlooking the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area.
“This impressive property will give buyers a real feel for the high quality of the finish and the spacious interiors of the homes at Sanders Fields, and we fully expect the high level of interest we have experienced since work began on site last October to continue.”
Megan Sanders, Director at Sanders & Sanders, said: “It was a pleasant surprise to discover that Davidsons Homes had not only been inspired by our family’s heritage in the town when naming the new development, but also when designing the showhome too.
“We’re thrilled to have been invited along to the launch and it was an honour to officially open the showhome, receive the first tour, and see at first hand what these stunning new homes will look like.”
