Plans approved for more homes at former Rugby Radio Station site
Rugby Borough Council has approved plans for the second phase of Davidsons Homes’ latest development in the new village of Houlton.
The housebuilder will deliver a further 42 homes as part of the ongoing regeneration of the former Rugby Radio Station site being led by Urban&Civic and Aviva Investors.
Known as Davidsons at Houlton, it is the third development to be built by Davidsons Homes on the site and is being delivered in two phases which will eventually comprise 69 new properties.
Work is underway on the first phase of 27 homes, in which a range of two, three and four-bedroom houses are being built.
Simon Tyler, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “Securing this planning permission from Rugby Borough Council will enable us to extend our commitment to delivering new homes at Houlton until at least 2022.
“Davidsons at Houlton represents the third stage of our involvement in this scheme which is creating a thriving and desirable new community on the edge of Rugby. We were the first housebuilder to welcome residents to Houlton, and since beginning work in October 2016, we have completed more than 200 houses across the site.”
Houlton will eventually consist of around 6,200 new homes, three primary schools, a secondary school, health centre and other community facilities.
