Plant Fitter

We are recruiting for a Plant Fitter to join Ivan and his busy team based in Ibstock. The role of the Plant Fitter will be to carry out general maintenance, along with routine servicing to Plant machines. The successful candidate will be required to travel off site to carry out maintenance and servicing work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service and repair construction equipment or miscellaneous equipment, maintaining safe working practices throughout.
• Undertake routine inspections of plant machinery.
• Knowledgeable with contractors’ plant, for example: telescoping forklifts, dumpers, mixers, jet washers, water pumps, rollers etc.
• Fault finding and repairing plant machinery in the workshop and on site.
• Maintain a sufficient personal toolkit to enable you to carry out the job effectively.
• Ensure a smart and professional appearance, wearing appropriate work wear and PPE, and to ensure housekeeping in your work area is of a high standard.
• Flexibility to work overtime as and when necessary.
• Work in accordance with UK standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental care.

Skills & Experience Required:

Relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of Plant Machinery HGV’s or Forklift Trucks, including proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics and electrics would be an advantage.

Driving License: Full UK Driver’s license and a light goods vehicle license is required.  A licence to drive heavy goods vehicles would be an advantage, however not essential.
