District junior football team receives sponsorship from Davidsons

Young footballers from across Nuneaton and Bedworth have received sponsorship from Davidsons Homes.

Nuneaton and Bedworth’s under 12s district football team, who are based at Ambleside Sports Club, have received sponsorship funds to cover the £476.00 cost of a new kit for the players.

The team, which formed well over 30 years ago, consists of 17 players, aged between 11 to 12 years, who have been put forward by their schools and selected to play for the district.

Kev Taylor, Team Manager, said: “We’re very grateful for Davidsons Homes’ donation. It’s absolutely fantastic and has given the whole team a real boost.

“They had been wearing an old Nuneaton Borough strip that must have been at least three or four years old and it really wasn’t looking its best.

“The new kit has done wonders for the morale of the team and their development. It’s so good to see a developer putting back into the local area that it’s building in.”

Stephanie King, Sales Director for Davidsons Homes, said: “We’re very proud to be able to give something back to the community by supporting groups and facilities local to our developments.

“Nuneaton and Bedworth’s under 12s district football team is a fantastic sporting facility for young players in the area and we’re delighted to have been able to support them. We wish them all the best with the rest of the season ahead.”

Davidsons Homes is currently building a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes at its Manor Fields development, located off The Long Shoot in Nuneaton, and three, four and five-bedroom homes at its Church Fields development, located on Weddington Road in Nuneaton.
