Husbands Bosworth sales manager takes inspiration from parents to help home-hunters

The sales manager at a new homes development in Husbands Bosworth is drawing on her family experience of the industry to help local people find their ideal home.

Emily Matthews, sales manager at Davidsons Homes’ The Willows development, off Welford Road, has followed both parents into the construction industry – in fact, all three of them now work for the same company.

She’s enjoying considerable success in her new role, with nearly 60 per cent of the new homes at the development already sold and just 17 properties left to sell.

Emily said: “Before joining Davidsons, I was working in retail and although I loved being around people, I knew I needed a change. I’d grown up watching my parents have successful careers in the industry, so that is what motivated me to apply.

“I think the best bit about my new job is watching a buyer go through the whole process and then being able to hand over the keys to their new home. It really is an amazing thing to be a part of.

“It also helps that The Willows is such a lovely place to work. I have the most amazing site manager and assistant site manager to work alongside, and they check up on me every day. It’s also an exclusive development, with just 41 houses, so I get to know every single buyer well.”

Emily joined Davidsons in November last year, following mum Paula – who now works at Manor Fields in Nuneaton – into the company. Dad Richard joined them earlier this year and is based at Church Fields in Weddington.

Emily said: “Most people would say working for the same company as their parents is their idea of a nightmare, but we all love it. My mum and I are extremely similar, so I knew if she loved the job I would too. We all get on so well, we even live a mile away from one another!”
