Davidsons Homes scores with appointment of former professional rugby player
Leicestershire homebuilder, Davidsons Homes, has appointed retired professional rugby player, Tom Croft, as its newest land manager. The 32-year-old, who has called Leicestershire home since age 18, will be responsible for securing sites across the Central Midlands area for residential development.
The married father-of-two represented Leicester Tigers, England and British & Irish Lions during his successful rugby career. During this time, Croft won four premiership titles, three Anglo-Welsh titles, and a 6 Nations victory. He also toured with the British & Irish Lions on two occasions in South Africa and successfully in Australia in 2013. Croft plans to take his goal-oriented attitude into his new position with Davidsons Homes by striving to identify vibrant communities that will properly suit Davidsons’ expertly crafted homes and delight dwellers for generations to come.
Commenting on his new role, Tom said: “When the land manager opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to get out of my comfort zone and test myself with a new challenge. I’ve always been interested in property, so I thought this role would be a great chance for me to learn something completely different.
“Since joining, I’ve learnt that Davidsons, a family-owned business, shares similar ideals with my former rugby club, so it felt like a natural progression for me. I’m really excited to be working as a part of this new team and, although I’ve a huge amount to learn yet, I’m looking forward to helping Davidsons develop throughout the Midlands.”
Similar to his past role as a professional athlete, Croft plans to approach his new role by working towards short-term and long-term goals. He is most looking forward to the relationship building component of the role and discovering potential in sites across the region.
