New Construction Director Want to Help Homes Grow
Davidsons Homes has appointed a new construction director to oversee the company’s continued growth.
Ian Featherstone has joined the Ibstock-based housebuilder from Avant Homes, and brings with him almost three decades of experience in the industry.
The 44-year-old married father of five joined Avant – then known as Ben Bailey – as an apprentice joiner and rose through the ranks to become construction director in 2008.
In his new position, Ian will be responsible for all of Davidsons Homes’ live developments, working closely with the health and safety department and customer service team.
The housebuilder has doubled in size over the past decade, and Ian wants to use his experience to help grow the Davidsons brand even further and expand its number of live sites across the Midlands.
Ian said: “When the opportunity to join Davidsons arose I felt it was too good to turn down. The team around me is very passionate about the business and that’s reflected in the quality product produced.
“During my time as construction director at Ben Bailey we increased our output and grew our brand exposure as a result.
“It’s something I want to repeat, and by working with the departments we can create an in-depth growth strategy to increase the volume of homes being built.
“Davidsons is already growing at a quick pace, and it’s my role to make sure that the developments we build, and our customer care, continues to meet the company’s very high standards.”
The keen golfer and family man is also looking forward to working closely with the developer’s apprentices to help them progress up the career ladder like he did.
He added: “There are a lot of apprentices working with Davidsons and I’m very keen to work with their masters, who guide and mentor them in their training, to create structured training plans and ways to help more young builders advance.
“Apprentices are the future of the industry and I hope to act as an example of what can be achieved through hard work and commitment.”
Davidsons Homes is building new developments in locations across Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.
