Primary school children name new Burton housing development

Children from Shobnall Primary School have teamed up with Davidsons Homes to name the company’s new housing development in Burton-on-Trent.

Pupils were invited to take part in a competition to name the new 125-home development, which is being built off Reservoir Road.

Lewis Tivey, a Year 3 pupil, put forward the winning name – Hilltop View – and received a certificate and a book voucher in an assembly in front of his friends and family.

The children took inspiration from the history of the town and the area surrounding the development.

Stephanie King, Sales and Marketing Director for Davidsons Homes, said: “As a housebuilder, it’s important to involve the community in our developments so we were delighted to ask local children to help name our Burton development.

“We received a lot of worthy efforts from the pupils at Shobnall Primary and the research they put in to the development and the local area was outstanding.

“Lewis did a great job and we feel the name Hilltop View was best suited to the development we are building in Burton. We hope that he enjoys spending his vouchers.

“I would like to thank everyone at Shobnall Primary School for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future.”

The development is a collaboration between Davidsons Homes and Strata Homes. When completed the site will comprise of 246 new homes, a large area of public open space – including National Forest Planting – and a children’s play area.

Davidsons Homes has launched the first homes at Hilltop View for the public in February this year and a showhome is expected to be launched in May.

A selection of three and four-bedroom homes is now available from £259,950.
