Home Builder Spreads Festive Cheer with Food Bank Appeal

Midlands based homebuilder Davidsons Homes held a Christmas Jumper Day with a twist in December.

To get in the festive spirit staff at their Head Office were asked to wear their favourite Christmas Jumper and donate food items for a local food bank in Ashby de la Zouch on Tuesday 23rd December.

The collection was extremely successful and almost doubled the items donated by the company last year, collecting a whopping 140.4kg in food and almost £100 in cash for the Trust to stock up on essential items for their stores.

Noreen Mewies from the Trussell Trust commented ‘the foodbank was very busy before Christmas, we were averaging 15-18 referrals each week with around 250kg of food to going to families in need. Without the support of people like Davidsons we would not be able to offer the service that we are able to at present. We were also able to give little extras/treats to families from your donation especially nice at Christmas.’

Stephanie King, Sales Director for Davidsons Homes added ‘We were thrilled to be able to support such a fantastic charity and hope to be able to continue to do so in the future. Christmas is such a special time and as a company we felt that we wanted to help in any way possible and couldn’t believe the results.’

Davidsons Homes will be launching their site in Ashby de la Zouch in the Spring of 2016. To register your interest please visit www.davidsonsgroup.co.uk.
