It’s a family affair at Davidsons Homes

Leicestershire housebuilder, Davidsons Homes, has recruited the third member of the same household to its growing business. Richard Matthews was appointed as sales manager at the company’s Church Fields development, in Weddington, last month; joining his wife and daughter on the Davidsons team.

The trio, from Leicestershire are each responsible for uniting families in the Midlands with their perfect homes. Given their combined experience within construction and sales, the Matthews family have ambitious plans to shake up sales within their designated areas.

Paula Matthews was first to join the company in July 2015, having already accumulated over 12 years of service within the construction industry. Since her appointment, the mother-of-four has worked her way up the ranks to become a senior sales manager at Davidsons’ Dollman Meadow site in Rugby.

Having witnessed the great job satisfaction her mother returns home with every night, 24-year-old Emily made the decision to leave the retail sector and join Paula in the construction and housebuilding industry in November 2017. Her wealth of experience, fulfilling a number of management roles in retail stores across the Midlands meant she was well-equipped to head up The Willows development in Husband Bosworth as sales manager.

Not wanting to miss out on the action, dad and husband, Richard, joined the company in March 2018 as sales manager at Davidsons’ Church Fields development, following nine years of service within the construction industry.

Commenting on the family affair, Paula said: “For some, the idea of working with family can be considered slightly conflicting, but we’re really proud to all work for the same company. It means we can better relate to each other’s work lives and share experiences, and solutions to the challenges we each face. We’re all really enjoying feeling apart of something together.

“With Richard and I living together, and Emily only a mile away, it could be easy to see too much of each other, but working at different sites means we’re not always in each other’s pockets. However, it is lovely knowing that, if we ever do need support, we’re each only a phone call away.

“Our inherent competitive natures also mean we’re all really driven and always striving to be the best, which can only be a good thing in terms of sales! The only downfall is that we can often struggle to switch off from work talk sometimes!”
