Housebuilder spreads festive cheer to children’s unit at Horton Hospital

A housebuilder in Banbury has spread festive cheer to children spending the Christmas period in hospital.

Davidsons Homes came bearing gifts for patients in the children’s ward at Horton General Hospital, donating a collection of brand new toys for the youngsters to play with.

Among the items donated were Lego sets, arts and crafts gifts, action figures, cuddly farm animals, and a variety of sensory toys.

Emma Tuckwell, Area Sales Manager for Davidsons Homes, called into the hospital to present the toys to staff and patients on the ward.

The housebuilder is currently building new homes at The Mill development off Duke’s Meadow Drive in Banbury.

Emma said: “We are committed to supporting the local communities in which we build and with the festive season upon us, our thoughts turned to those who won’t be fortunate enough to spend Christmas at home this year.

“We were delighted when the hospital accepted our offer to donate some toys to the children’s ward and it was a pleasure to meet the staff and find out more about the fantastic work that they do.

“It was lovely to see the children playing with the new toys and we hope our donation goes someway to making Christmas that little bit more special for them this year.”

Hannah Gilkes, a play specialist at Horton General Hospital’s children’s ward, said: “The donation of lovely toys for the children’s ward will make such a difference to the sick children and their families that are on the ward over the festive period, and we’d like to thank Davidsons Homes for their kind generosity.”

The Mill is a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes located off Dukes Meadow Drive in Banbury.
