Davidsons Homes ‘Chainbreak’ makes Scraptoft move possible

Michael and Miriam Newell were looking to buy at Davidsons ‘South Lawns’ development at Scraptoft Hall. This is the first phase of 24 detached and semi-detached homes within the grounds of the 18th century mansion.

Davidsons were able to make the move possible through their ‘Chainbreak’ scheme. Michael explained “Davidsons bought the property from the people who wanted to buy our home, so they, in turn, could buy ours. This was great and meant we could buy the Davidsons home we liked at Scraptoft. We really like the area – there is some delightful countryside and beautiful walks, and there is already a great community developing, which will grow as the development progresses”.

Miriam said “The home we’ve bought, a ‘Newstead’, is lovely, with lots of space. I particularly love the balcony which leads to the master bedroom, over a void above the kitchen, and overlooks the hall. The master bedroom overlooks the church, and the kitchen has windows that overlook both the church and the hall. The hall is a magnificent building which is lit up at night to further enhance its appearance”.

Miriam continued “Our granddaughter visits a lot and the second floor has a bedroom and shower room which means she can have her own self-contained space”. Michael added “The spaciousness extends to the outside too – there’s a big detached garage and a large gated driveway which I like”.

Michael continued “The Davidsons team have been very helpful and supportive. The site manager Tim, and the sales manager Louise, have bent over backwards to make things go smoothly. They are very focussed on helping customers and couldn’t have done any more for us”.

Stephanie King, Davidsons sales director, said “It’s great to hear that we are getting things right. For the third year in a row we have received five stars in the National Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey. It’s the highest rating, and it reflects our aim to make buying a home as enjoyable as possible for all our customers.”

All of the homes at ‘South Lawns’ have an excellent specification – Rotpunkt kitchens are fitted with a range of appliances, including oven, hob and integrated microwave – and stylish Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware features in bathrooms and en-suites.  There are also lots of ways to personalise your home, depending on the stage of building, by choosing different colours, doors, handles, paint throughout, and lots of other details – many at no extra cost.
